Call for TSA Volunteers: Tours Support

Looking for a great opportunity to explore the city while supporting the TSA’s public education efforts? Come join us as a TSA Tours Support Volunteer for the 2026 season!

Now entering its 16th season, our TSA Walking Tours program is among the Society’s largest and most popular public outreach programs. Led by our team of volunteer Tour Guides, this initiative offers a variety of high-quality, educational, and entertaining tours exploring Toronto’s modern and contemporary architecture and landscapes, while touching on issues of design and city building. Whether on foot or on the water, our tours are one of the best ways to get to know the city and the forces that shaped it.

Our TSA Tours Support Volunteers provide key logistical day-of support to our guides, greeting and checking-in visitors, providing group management and coordination, and answering questions from the public. They are reliable and punctual team-players that enjoy interacting with people from all over the world, and are quick on their feet to find solutions when problems arise. And while they may not be delivering the tour, our Tours Support Volunteers are just as enthusiastic as our guides about architecture, our city, and sharing this passion with the public.

This is a great first-time recurring volunteering opportunity for anyone potentially interested in becoming a future TSA Tour Guide. You’ll get to learn more about our tours, experience different routes, and the logistics behind the program.

What to expect?

TSA Tours Support Volunteers commit to helping out with 2-3 public tours a month during the 2026 TSA Walking Tour season, running from early May through to the end of October. It will also include the special tours occurring during Doors Open Toronto (May 23-24, 2026), as well as our TSA Boat Tours offerings. Shifts will be assigned based on volunteer availability and tours take place primarily in downtown Toronto or along transit lines.

We will host a mandatory half-day in-person orientation session on Saturday, April 11 where volunteers will have the opportunity to meet the Tour Guides and Tour Guides In-Training for the 2026 season. All new volunteers are also required to complete a short online course on accessible customer service (30-40 minutes).
